Having just re-watched Schlinder’s list I was reminded of the colour saturation effects used to highlight the little girl in the red dress. Saturation adjustments can be used to tweak a piece of video to give extra impact by making colours more vibrant, or a very different feeling can be evoked by making the colours washed out.
