C4 Announce Viral Awards Winners

The votes have been counted, the people have spoken and the winners for this year’s Channel 4 International Viral Awards ‘Germ’ have just been announced. The full list of winners can be seen at www.channel4.com/germ The winners are listed below:

Pro Create with Greenpeace

green.jpgGreenpeace have launched a new campaign entitled ‘Green My Apple‘ They are asking creative Mac users to employ their skills in creating ad campaigns, t-shirts and films to help promote the greener computing issue. Users can download video footage and create their own music and documentary films. Greenpeace promise to show the best on site as they are submitted.

20th Century Fox Kicks off Nanosite

day.pngFilm company 20th Century Fox has become the first brand to appear on a NanoSite that runs in a new generation of video players launched by Bore Me, Europe’s leading viral video website. Advertisers, publishers and content owners can run interactive ads in the NanoSite which provides a new and extremely flexible format to communicate an advertising message in an enriched, non-intrusive way to an audience targeted by their interest in particular videos or types of videos (based on tags).

20th Century Fox is promoting ‘28 Weeks Later’, the follow up to the cult 2002 British post-apocalyptic science fiction/horror film ‘28 Days Later’, through the service. The NanoSite will feature a trailer, background to the story, a photo gallery and a link to the official MySpace site.

London Film School MA

The London Film School MA Screenwriting programme, which was launched in 2005, has been accredited by Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for the audio visual industries, as one of a small number of approved Screenwriting courses in the UK. This accreditation brings with it the opportunity to receive bursaries for UK qualifying students.

The MA at the London Film School is a unique one-year screenwriting programme within the context of a diverse filmmaking community. The emphasis is on developing the writer’s original voice through small group and one-to-one mentoring from industry professionals.
Places are limited to 12 students and the application deadline is 1 June.
