CBBC : Me and My Movie

Are you aged 8-14 and interested in film-making? If the answer is yes the ‘CBBC me and my movie’ summer roadshow is just for you!

CBBC are offering budding young film-makers the opportunity to take part in a fun and practical based filmmaking workshop run by Cinemagic from 8th-10 August, in Craigavon and Belfast. From scriptwriting and storyboarding, to filming and editing, participants will learn all the skills needed to make a short film in a day!

As well as participating in the workshop, young people will be in with the chance to win the ‘CBBC me and my movie award’, – in association with BAFTA’- which is a special new award for films made by children at the annual Children’s BAFTAs.

The Future of Entertainment is Wiki

Steve Coogan’s production company Baby Cow is leading the way in online entertainment with the launch of their latest venture Where Are The Joneses? the World’s first ever interactive daily online sitcom www.wherearethejoneses.com.

www.wherearethejoneses.com is an online, interactive, fictional, daily comedy collaboratively written by the Where Are the Joneses? community, i.e. the public. The story centres around Dawn Jones who has just found out that she is the product of a sperm donor and feels her true calling in life is to find her 27 brothers and sisters from the same donor.

DepicT! The 90 Second Challenge

DepicT! is challenging filmmakers from across the globe to come up with a compelling imaginative idea and distill it into 90 seconds of cinematic originality. Not only will shortlisted films gain priceless industry exposure at Encounters International Short Film Festival (Wednesday 21 – Sunday 25 November 2007) in Bristol, but they’ll be in the running for the top cash prize of £2000.

New this year: The DepicT! 07 shortlisted entries will be made available for theatrical screenings in cinemas across the UK through the Digital Screen Network in 2008*, thanks to a new partnership with Arts Alliance Media.
