flick.pngTagtraum industries is proud to announce iP2F – a Flickr upload plugin for iPhoto. iP2F makes it extremely easy to upload your pictures from iPhoto 2 Flickr. Before the upload you can resize, rename, describe and tag your images with smart, Mail.app-style tokenfields – all directly out of iPhoto. iP2F also lets you create photosets and add images to existing sets and pools.

New Works in Glass

glass.pngExpect the unexpected as Island Arts Centre prepares to unveil exciting and ethereal new works by Belfast artist Heather Wilson. The exhibition, An Interruption in The Way of Things will include beautifully crafted sculptural installations featuring glass, metals, water and light projections exploring the relationship between objects, lighting and space, with a focus on the installation of work. This approach helps to create unique and unusual outcomes, which will surprise and delight viewers invoking reflective perception on the little things in life.

Lisburn Arts : Katzenjammer

Well Katzenjammer – the Four Hands on One Piano Music & Comedy Duo will turn classical music on its head on Saturday 6 October at 8:00pm when the two internationally acclaimed pianists, Steven Worbey and Kevin Farrell, play at the Island Arts Centre, Lisburn.

Future Shorts Launch

iStopmotion 2 Final Candidate

firm.pngAfter more than two years of development, the team is eager to get iStopMotion 2 into your hands. At this stage, iStopMotion 2 is fully functional and has completed intensive beta testing. All major problems reported during beta testing have been resolved, so it should be ready for production work. But please perform your own intensive testing before betting your business on it and report any problems you find.

The team is hard at work to give the product the final touches, but since the remaining tasks are not critical for using the product, we wanted to start getting it into your hands. This is the list of open tasks:

DepicT! The 90 Second Challenge

DepicT! is challenging filmmakers from across the globe to come up with a compelling imaginative idea and distill it into 90 seconds of cinematic originality. Not only will shortlisted films gain priceless industry exposure at Encounters International Short Film Festival (Wednesday 21 – Sunday 25 November 2007) in Bristol, but they’ll be in the running for the top cash prize of £2000.

New this year: The DepicT! 07 shortlisted entries will be made available for theatrical screenings in cinemas across the UK through the Digital Screen Network in 2008*, thanks to a new partnership with Arts Alliance Media.

London Film School MA

The London Film School MA Screenwriting programme, which was launched in 2005, has been accredited by Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for the audio visual industries, as one of a small number of approved Screenwriting courses in the UK. This accreditation brings with it the opportunity to receive bursaries for UK qualifying students.

The MA at the London Film School is a unique one-year screenwriting programme within the context of a diverse filmmaking community. The emphasis is on developing the writer’s original voice through small group and one-to-one mentoring from industry professionals.
Places are limited to 12 students and the application deadline is 1 June.

Insomnia Photo Festival

insom.pngThe first ever Insomnia Photo Festival challenges you to shoot the perfect picture in just one day. On Friday, April 27 at 5 p.m. Eastern (2 p.m. Pacific), Apple will post a photography assignment for you to complete. From that time, you will have 24 hours to finish and submit your ideal image. After the entries are posted to the web gallery, Apple will make them available for the public to view and rate. The top 25 highest rated photos through May 16, 2007, will then be judged by their panel of experts.

Winners will be designate in two categories: the audience’s choice and the judges’ choice. Grand prize winning photographers will receive a 15″ MacBook Pro, a copy of Aperture, and an 80GB iPod for their portable portfolio. Visit Apple Education for more information.
