I have only had my Flips since the middle of September, but they are already an important part of the class. I feel like the Flips increase engagement. I will film everyday events, not just projects or presentations. Most of the videos are short, but it has been very helpful for keeping students in the loop. We have a daily class blog, which the students check when they are out. It is so easy to take a video and embed it in a blog. With lots of sickness (H1N1, etc), students are able to watch the review activities and respond to the same questions as the class. I also left the Flip with a sub when I was out with the flu and had students film short segments for me to see their progress.
I loved seeing someone else's ideas for using Flips in education. It has given me some additional ideas. Thanks!

Advantages of Flipo:
1. Good video quality;
2. Portability;
3. Capacity;
4. Easy to transfer to the PC.

Disadvantages of Flipo:
1. The videos get very easily shaked;
2. It's expensive.

Why not just get an iPod nano - it does everything the Flip Video camera does and then some. Sure Flip Video's one trick pony days are numbered.

Aren't Flip Video now owned by Cisco?
