Arts and Business Partnership
Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People and Coca-Cola HBC Northern Ireland are celebrating the continuation of their partnership for the next three years. The award-winning partners have been working together since 2004, highlighting the benefits of collaboration between business and the arts.
Cinemagic is one of the leading young people’s film festivals internationally and the nineteenth festival takes place in Belfast from 18th November- 4th December 2009.
With the growing success of the partnership, the 2009 Coca-Cola Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival is set to be the biggest and best yet, with fantastic film screenings including special previews, international features, documentaries, shorts, and foreign language films, as well as workshops for schools and industry masterclasses. This year’s festival programme launches in Movie House Cinemas, Yorkgate/City Side on 24th September and it will be marked with a special preview screening of the new Disney•Pixar animated comedy ‘UP’.
Joan Burney, Cinemagic Chief Executive said: “Cinemagic is delighted to be able to continue working with Coca-Cola over the next three years. We have delivered three successful annual festivals and a number of community outreach events in partnership with Coca-Cola, and we’re looking forwarding to developing the relationship further in 2009 and in Cinemagic’s twentieth anniversary year in 2010. The Title Sponsorship allows Cinemagic to build on the success of last year’s festival and increase the amount of educational films and events for schools, and masterclasses for those wishing to follow a career in the creative industries.”
Zoe Cunningham, Communications Manager for Coca-Cola HBC Northern Ireland added: “Coca-Cola is proud to maintain its successful partnership with Cinemagic by continuing to sponsor the Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People for the next three years. This year’s festival will once again provide participants with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in many arts based disciplines, giving a unique insight into the world of film and television and showcasing the many and varied talents of the young people of Northern Ireland.
We are delighted to support activities for the 12 – 25 age group such as the exciting range of movie screenings and the masterclass programme for 16-25 year olds, which provides a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn and gain experience from industry experts in a variety of cinematic and media disciplines.”
