Top 10 Hitchcock Movies

There is no doubt that Sir Alfred Hitchock was the master of suspense and modern filmmakers today still draw from his ability to control the pace of a film. His films draw heavily on both fear and fantasy. The films are known for their droll humour and witticisms, and these cinematic works often portray innocent people caught up in circumstances beyond their control or understanding.

I have gone as far as to put my personal top ten  movies of all time in a video timeline. I was tempted to list them in order of preference but it was too difficult. For me though ‘Strangers on a Train’ comes out on top. Pyscho and Rear Window are great but the casual creepy character Bruno Anthony freaks me out enough to take top place. The 1950s were definitely Hitchcock’s best years.

1. Rebecca

2. Shadow of Doubt

3. Notorious

4. Strangers on a Train

5. Dial M for Murder

6. Vertigo

7. North by North West

8. Pyscho

9. The Birds

10. 39 Steps

I have no doubt there are many out there who would disagree with some of the films listed, the fact that  ‘To Catch a Thief’ is not listed etc. If you feel strongly do post a comment.
