QFT Screenings : The Lives of Others…..

There are two new award winning films coming to QFT that will be popular amongst pupils and teachers alike. The following daytime introduced screenings are available to school groups, full details are set out below:
Introduced screening of the new Oscar winning German film The Lives of Others (Das Leben der Anderen) cert: 15 on Thursday 26th April at 10.30am by Dr. Todd Weir of the History Department of Queen’s University Belfast. Supports AS/A2 level Media and Film Studies, German and History. This film focuses on the horrifying, and sometimes unintentionally funny system of observation in the former East Germany. Introduced screening of Days of Glory (Indigenes) cert: 12A on Thursday 3rd May at 10.30am by Dr. Nigel Harkness from the French Department of Queen’s University. This film is set during WWII, when four North African men enlist in the French army to liberate their country from Nazi oppression, and to fight French discrimination. Supports years 10 to AS/A2 level Film and Media Studies, French and History. Further information on the film is available at www.daysofglorythefilm.com
