BT Homehub and Back to my Mac

May 30, 2008

With the latest Leopard update (10.5.3) brings a dialogue box outlining issues with ‘Back to My Mac’ Well like many other UK Broadband users with BT we are using the BT HomeHub. We celebrated the ease of use of this device but frankly it doesn’t work with Back to my Mac :( We are on the latest H firmware  of the homehub and activating Back to my Mac throws up the following error.

The big question is, will BT patch the HomeHub we can we use BTMM or show BT users look at alternative routing devices ?

Anyone else had any success with Back to my Mac ?

obviously be sure to check your advanced settings to see if your UPnP is active..
Mine is but still no dice..
But i’m not sure if UPnP is active on the router where the mac i’m trying to connect to is…

    hopefully this is the problem..
Fingers crossed.. shame, was really looking forward to trying out BTMM..

You can get BTMM working with the home hub if you make your computer a dmz. By doing this UPnP is allowed and no ports are blocked by the firewall. Works perfectly.
