Film Street

February 7, 2007

film streetIf you are a teacher in the primary sector and are looking for a site that provides information on film and animation then look no further than Film Street. The site is divided into a range of areas and topics. For each area of the site, you will find Activity downloads for children including creative projects, suggestions for analysing film, and templates for creative work.

These are complemented by suggested Activity Ideas for parents and teachers, which try to suggest ways you as parents or teachers can encourage and support projects that the children are keen to undertake.

These activities attempt to contribute to the development of literacy and cineliteracy as described in ‘Look Again! A teaching guide for using film for three to eleven year olds’ produced by BFI Education and published by the Department for Education and Skills. You will also find links and resources in the Resources section and these vary from research articles, to film websites and software download sites.
