If you are anything like us you will have a range of applications on your mac. Some you will have bought online, some as bundles and others on disk. On of the Mac Creative team was the proud owner of a new iMac this week and to his horror discovered he had mislead three license codes for essential applications.At this point we have to praise Elgato within fifteen minutes of emailing their technical support we had our EyeTv license key emailed at no charge. The same applies to Overflow and TubeSock. Fortunately in this case the software vendors were happy to replace the codes but this is not always the case.

In comes an essential piece of software entitled “LicenseKeeper” This handy application can index applications on your mac and store your license keys. There are a range of options from the basic storing of text fields but better you can attach the email containing the code in one click. LicenseKeeper allows direct email attaching and also file attaching. Both Overflow and Tubesock use a license file, again this is not a problem to Licensekeeper, attach the file and it can be dragged from license keeper to the appropriate application.

The new 1.1 release adds full support for Entourage and PowerMail. Users of these email readers can now benefit from LicenseKeeper’s innovative serial number scanning while importing their email. In addition, LicenseKeeper now stores Dashboard Widgets, Plug-Ins, and Preference Panes.
