Film : The Typesetter
February 16, 2007
As you will know we have previously featured the work of Bil Thompson (here). This post features another one of his excellent pieces, a combination of film and stop motion. The Typesetter is a journey through the barriers of the subconscious.
We asked Bil what tips he could offer to film makers starting off in the area of stop motion and real life animation :
“For me the number one tip I can offer is to use what resources you have available. I work at a print shop, so I use a print shop in some of my films. I don’t have access to fancy armatures or have time/money to build large sets so I use places which exist in my day to day life and items I find that can be manipulated and made to have character.”
