Wake up to iTunes

Awaken wakes you up to your iTunes music, or any of the built in alarm sounds. You can also fall asleep listening to your music with the built in sleep timer. Awaken by Embraceware costs just $8 yet still offers a wide range of features.

Awaken will not only wake you but also your Mac. Put your computer in sleep mode during the night and Awaken will do the rest. You can also use your Apple remote to control what happens next. Awaken is built and designed to run natively on both Intel and PowerPC Macs and also features full podcast support so you can wake up or fall asleep listening to your favorite Podcast.

To get the best from this application I would suggest setting up a dedicated iTunes play list with your favourite songs or podcasts.

One additional feature is the ability to launch an application on alarm. If you have an EyeTV device you can wake to last TV channel you viewed so you do not even need to get out of bed to turn the TV on.
