BeCreative

October 7, 2008

Film Education’s Be Creative competition offers UK students a unique production task: to create a media campaign (either a filmed advert, a radio campaign or a series of posters) promoting legal downloads and discouraging illegal filesharing. Open to UK students aged 11-19, this competition offers fantastic prizes for the winning entrants and their schools:

An Apple laptop each for the overall winners; four brand new Apple iMacs, plus a digital stills and digital video camera, for the winners’ schools

They’re looking for the brightest, boldest, most exciting ideas yet: students will need to be inventive and original in addressing their target audience. Prizes are awarded in two categories: 11-14 and 15-19. For more information visit www.filmeducation.org/becreative

To enter the competition, you must research, design and create an original campaign to promote legal downloads and discourage illegal filesharing. You could focus on film, music or games or create a cross-industry campaign. Choose from the following media:

  • a 30 second filmed advert, plus a teaser version, OR;
  • a campaign of three 30 second radio commercials, OR;
  • a poster campaign featuring three designs

Entries must come from UK students aged 11-19; individual and group entries will be accepted – see our terms and conditions for full details.

Prizes will be awarded in two categories: 11-14 and 15-19. Where group entrants are of mixed ages they must nominate the most appropriate category for their entry. Overall winners in each category will receive an Apple laptop each, and their school will receive four Apple computers with a full range of creative software along with a digital stills and digital video camera. Runners-up in the 11-14 category will each receive an iPod; for the 15-19 runners-up the prize is a digital SLR camera.

You can find more helpful information on our Resources page and further details in the Terms and Conditions.
