CreativeCamp Belfast
September 7, 2008
Yesterday saw the first ever CreativeCamp in Belfast. Around eighty creative and technology professionals turned up for the event hosted in Blick studios.
The event was sponsored by Digital Circle, Front and Mac-Sys and can certainly be considered a massive success. The concept of CreativeCamp focuses on ”unconference” idea. Basically people sign up and agree to present on a range of topics.
Unfortunately I was unable to attend for the full day but for the few hours I was there gained massively from the experience. As of today (thanks to DavyMac) my life has a new ‘Getting Things Done’ structure using an application called ‘Things’
The event was completely free to attend the food and drink was free, free internet and without doubt one of the best training events I have been at. I gained more in the 2-3 hours I was there than I do at training courses I pay to go on.
A blog post really can not do the event justice. Head over to the Digital Circle website and checkout Podcast Episode 2 created by Davy Sims.

Thanks for the plug - doing regular podcasts about the Content industry - always looking for people with something to say to participate.
Thanks very much for the mention on your blog. Best I could hope for from my brief intro talk was that few folks would get the GTD message and some others would be inspired to ‘get back on the wagon’. Good to get such positive feedback.
Overall Creative Camp was a great day, plenty of interesting people and discussions, overlapping well into the pub session later on.
Cheers.
Definitely a great day. Totally rethinking how I work with “Things” it was great to put faces to twitter usernames.
Thanks for visiting my blog and for the link to a missing site from my list. I have tried yet again (4th different attempt) to listen to the Podcast from the day without success. At this stage I have given up. The links take me round in circles with no sign of a Podcast.
Sorry to hear you are having problems - here’s the link to the xml file:
