Apple Restore Me (Mobile that is)

Apple have updated their blog outlining the process of rectifying the number of problems with the Mobile Me service. Apple insist the issues only effect 1% of their customers and now all historic email has been restored.

I have to say the 1% of customers effected have a very large voice and they appear to be many of the major Apple bloggers. The newly discovered problem related to syncing over the air was certainly well blogged before Apple discovered it. The good news is, if you were effected by the deletion of data during a sync it is possible to restore the information. See below. Read the story »

iPhone WordPress App Released

The WordPress for iPhone application is now officially on the iTunes Apps Store.  The Open Source app that lets you write posts, upload photos, and edit your WordPress blog directly from your iPhone or iPod Touch. When the app launches, it will hit the ground running with support for multiple blogs, creating and editing posts, uploading photos from your library or the camera, even privacy settings.

Creative use of iPhone GPS

Apple have seen some criticism of the lack of turn by turn GPS functionality. Well one Northern Ireland reader has certainly come up with a very creative use of the iPhone’s GPS features. A number of years ago a Peace Maze was created in Castlewellan Forest park in County Down. The maze is simply massive. 
Dimensions
Ground area - 11,000m2 (2.7 acres or 1.1 hectares)
Hedge Length - 3550 m (over 2miles!)
Path length - 3147 m (almost 2 miles)
Path width - (1.8m) and lower than usual hedges (1.5m) are aimed at encouraging communication between visitors. Read the story »
