Film Critics Needed

Do you enjoy watching films? Would you like to share your views on what you see on the screen with others? Ever thought of being a film critic?

If so, this year’s Coca-Cola Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People is currently selecting a jury panel of 10 to 18 year olds to watch and judge short and feature films. The panel will be required to watch all of the films that are being screened in competition during the Festival (18th Nov-4th Dec) and to choose a number of winning entries.

Young people, aged 16-25, keen to get an inside track on the film industry can do just that in December, as the Cinemagic ‘Talent Lab’, sponsored by Invest Northern Ireland, returns to Belfast as part of the annual Coca-Cola Cinemagic Film and Television Festival for Young People.

Promising to be a fantastic mix of creativity, fun and learning, the ‘Talent Lab’ will offer young people the chance to participate in a unique series of industry masterclasses on 3rd and 4th December, culminating in a special awards ceremony in Odeon Cinemas.

Film fans across Northern Ireland are in for a cinematic treat as the 19th Coca-Cola Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People has launched its highly anticipated annual programme that includes more than 100 film screenings and over 50 different workshops, competitions, masterclasses and exciting film related events.

Budding young filmmakers aged 25 and under, are in with the chance to have their short film showcased on the silver screen at this year’s Coca-Cola Cinemagic International Film Festival for Young People in Belfast, in November. Young filmmakers from the UK and Ireland are invited to submit their films to the annual Cinemagic Young Filmmaker Competition which honours the best of young filmmaking talent across different genres.

Cinemagic : Consultants

Cinemagic has launched its annual call for young film enthusiasts, aged 10 – 18, to take on the role of film consultants and help select the films for this year’s festival. The Coca-Cola Cinemagic International Film & Television Festival for Young People will take place in Belfast from 18th November- 4th December 2009.

Cinemagic Lisburn Kicks Off

The inaugural Cinemagic Lisburn Film Festival for Young People opens on Monday 30th March with a special preview screening of “Race to Witch Mountain” (Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Ireland) taking place in Omniplex Cinemas, Lisburn.

Cinemagic and Lisburn City Council have launched a week long programme of media and moving image events for schools and young people in the Lisburn area, which will take place from 30th March – 5th April 2009. The initiative is part of a series of events marking the 400th Anniversary of Lisburn.
