Cinemagic : Consultants

Cinemagic has launched its annual call for young film enthusiasts, aged 10 – 18, to take on the role of film consultants and help select the films for this year’s festival. The Coca-Cola Cinemagic International Film & Television Festival for Young People will take place in Belfast from 18th November- 4th December 2009.

The Queen’s Film Theatre are running a series of special Sunday afternoon events for families on the topic of ‘transformation’. The programme offers families to transform Sunday afternoon with a pair of free tickets to see Stand by Me, Juno or Son of Rambow this Spring at the Belfast Theatre.

QFT : Short Shots Trick of Light

QFT, in conjunction with the London Short Film Festival, is delighted to present a programme of stunning new short films. The programme entitled Short Shots – Trick of the Light takes place on Mon 2 March, 6.45pm.

Classic Film at QFT

QFT is delighted to announce that the hugely popular Stella Artois Continental Classics will make a welcome return to our screens from Friday 15th until Thursday 28th August.

BBC Presenter Auditions

qfts.pngHinman Media is holding an open casting session to find television presenters for a new Friday night series on BBC Northern Ireland.

Niki Hinman, of Hinman Media said: ‘We are looking for interesting and energetic people, who want to bring a smile to Friday night television here in Northern Ireland.

The series is called Carjunkies – and as the title suggests – it’s about people who are obsessed with doing up cars.’ All those who want to try out will need to register their details on the day, and will be required to present a short piece to camera, and carry out a short on-screen interview.

Update : Auditions will now take place on Saturday 1st September in the Queens University Students Union. Candidates should be 18 or over.

QFT Goes Digital

Queen’s Film Theatre has announced that it is to be the first cinema in Northern Ireland to install a digital projector. Courtesy of a grant from the UK Film Council and support from the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission, the Stella Artois Screen 1 will now be able to screen state-of-the-art high definition digital films as well as standard celluloid films.
