Teachers and Social Networks

I would be interested in hearing your opinion on teachers using social networking in particular when school life and out of school life overlap. Should there be a school policy for social network usage by teachers ? I have been pondering with other social network education users this very idea, one suggestion is a policy along the lines of :

Playstation have opened the doors to their ‘Home’ Service. Home is a ground-breaking service allows users to interact, communicate and share gaming experiences through their personal avatars and better still the service is free (well if you have a well if you have a PS3 that is).

2nd Life and Moodle

2nd life is certainly no stranger to educational projects. The innovative 3d platform is home to a number of 3rd level qualifications and many schools are looking at the online world for classroom teaching. Well the solution could well be here in the form of  SLOODLE (Simulation Linked Object Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment).
