You can watch a previously recorded TV programme at the same time another is being recorded. To be honest I have mine set to auto convert so all playback either happens through the EyeTV iPhone app or iTunes.

It is a single channel tuner, you can only record or watch one programme at a time. You can watch a previously recorded programme though. Systems like sky+ have dual tuners - Elgato do offer a dual tuner system though but personally I stick with the single input versions.

I too have an EyeTV Sat but one thing I've not been able to work out is how to record and watch tv at the same time. When recording, it asks me to stop recording. Anyone got any idea how to get around this limitation ? Can you also record more than one show at a time?

hi all,
I have a macmini and the eyetv sat hd box. it's really a great soft- and hardware BUT it is not possible (#in germany) to watch hd signals without stuttering or juddering (don't know the correct english word) in german!
the reason is that the software use the cpu (computer processor unit and NOT the gpu - graphic processor).
if you have a mac with quad core everything is fine.
but I think, this is a very important information before buying this box.
unfortunately you can't find this on the webpage
best regards
alex from bavaria

1. The EyeTV 310 has been around for quite some time and also does DVB-S2 for HD satellite. It uses a FireWire connection whereas the EyeTV SAT uses USB.

2. It is possible to manually add ITV-HD to your Channel line-up in EyeTV see http://forum.elgato.com/viewtopic.php?f=86&t=2329

3. For a DVB-C tuner for the Mac, look for the EyeTV 610, I have seen old reports of people using it with NTL and Telewest, and therefore in theory it should also work with Virgin Media, however I have not looked for or seen any reports confirming that.
